Christmas at the B&B! Who hasn't dreamed of finding themselves in a bucolic environment, during the Holiday Season, to celebrate and have a good time with their loved ones! The images of countryside bed and breakfasts, crumbling under a beautiful sumptuous snow and decorated for the occasion come to our minds and delight our spirits, a little like the Hallmark Christmas movies. We may even imagine a sleigh pulled by horses with their bells tinkling down the snowy path to take us for a ride.
These images are not very far from what we want to make you experience at Auberge Tom B&B. Located in Chelsea, in the charming county of Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais, in the heart of an enchanting and peaceful setting, our bed and breakfast has everything that postcard landscapes lovers dream about. The snow-covered nature adds a beautiful touch of enchantment while the interior decor, with a breathtaking view of the Gatineau River, sets the mood for the holidays and festivities. Whether you are alone or as a couple, with friends or family, staying at Auberge Tom B&B during this festive period creates wonderful memories to cherish for a lifetime.

It all starts in November with the outdoor lights. Hundreds of illuminated bulbs chase away the grayness by brightening the night which falls earlier and earlier, even before the afternoon is over. The outdoor fireplace is also a great place to be when you return from a nice hike. How about a good hot chocolate, are you in for a treat?

Early December, it's beginning to look like the Holidays. And to put us in the mood, we take out the Christmas dishes and decorate the dining room. The red and golden cores, the stars, Santa Claus' sleigh, fir trees and moose will brighten up your breakfast meals in the morning sunlight as well as your evening meals in the light of garlands and candles. Why wait until the 25th to treat ourselves? Doesn't the beauty of Christmas lie in the waiting, the planning and preparation of the festivities? The longer the evenings get, the more the decorations' lights, sequins and gilding reflect this little sparkle typical of a festive moment where we give ourselves a good time. This means that at Auberge Tom B&B, we celebrate Christmas during the whole month of December!

After decorating the dining room, it is now the turn to decorate the fir tree. Every year, we go to Laura Lee Hogan's booth in Chelsea to pick up THE tree that will fill us with joy. In turn, balsam trees and frasers were chosen, sometimes even a hybrid of the two. But always, a large eight-foot tree that is well rounded, well stocked and smells good! Once raised and thawed, it begins its transformation according to the decorations and, majestic in its new finery, quickly becomes the central ornament on the main floor, day and night.

It's not just the dining room that shines brightly. The fireplace area offers a warm and comforting glow thanks to a raging fire and candles that make this little nook a cozy place. The long chairs are the perfect place to curl up while reading a good book, listening to music or simply chatting with your loved one. We bet that the crackling of the fire and the pleasure of tasting your favorite beverage will soon take away any desire to go outside!

As soon as the snow begins to cover the ground with its thick white mantle, the landscape is transformed and becomes magical. The snowy branches of the trees create arabesques in the blue sky while those of the conifers seem to bend under the weight of a giant cream icing. For some, snow and cold rhymes with outdoor activities such as snowshoeing, skiing and skating. Thanks to the Chelsea Community Trail, which runs 22 km below the property, cross-country skiers and winter bikers can have fun on the entire snow-covered trail.
Those who prefer snowshoeing will also be delighted, as there are plenty of trails in the surrounding area. Access to the vast playgrounds of Gatineau Park and Camp Fortune (where, in addition to downhill skiing, snowshoeing and winter biking can be enjoyed) is only a few minutes by car, depending on the trails chosen.
No matter what activity you choose, it's easy to play outdoors all day long. When you return home, our outdoor or indoor fireplaces will warm your heart... and your feet during the aperitif, before it's time to enjoy a good meal in the dining room.
At Auberge Tom B&B, we believe that happiness simply lies in sharing beautiful moments with our loved ones, whether they are members of our family, our better half or precious friends. We are pleased to provide a beautiful and warm setting for these gatherings of two, four or eight people so that these moments spent together can be lived to create memories that will last a lifetime. We take care of all the work (cooking, serving, dishwashing, cleaning) in order to give a total and true break to all those who devote themselves to others the rest of the year.
Table d'hôte
Why not dine in and be served a delicious gourmet dinner package. Eating well in good company is one of life's pleasures that shouldn't be missed, especially during the Holiday Season.
We take a break for Christmas, from December 23rd to 30th inclusively in order to host our family, and resume on the 31st for New Year's Day celebrations.
